Engine fault light comes on engine pushed into low gear
I am experiencing the engine fault light coming on after I've been running awhile. The engine light comes on only sometimes. As soon as the red EFL message comes on I have to pull over and restart the car several times before it goes away. It does not happen until it's really hot outside and I have the AC on full blast and I've been driving in stop and go traffic for 30 minutes or more. This leads me to believe it is a temperature issue. The gauge does not move up and there are no other lights coming on. Is it possible that this can occur if the coolant mixture is too high in water? I had some issues with a heater junction valve that corroded and went bad. I replaced it last week and I'm know longer leaking but this is happening. I have not gone to run codes as of yet.

Check to see if the fans are running when the AC is running. The temp. gauge does not show increase until about 230 deg. It would be good if you had a torque app or code reader that would monitor the temp. while driving.
thank you RJ237. I will check that when I drive home today. I did go to autozone and got some codes. P1121, P1222, the 1111 code..

Ok guys, I need some help with this....... The EFSM light comes on randomly. At first I thought it was when I was using cruise control but I've eliminated that by driving for a week or so with that button off. Yesterday the light came on and I had to pull over after driving for about 25 minutes with the AC on. I turned off the car for 30 seconds and then it restarted right back up without a problem.
It seems that it is related to the AC, or perhaps a temperature issue. So, I'm not using the AC and the car works fine, most of the time.
So, is it possible that this could be MAF sensor issue or is it possibly the Throttle body sensor.....................Would either of these act up under heavier load? Both fans come on when the AC is running and the temperature gauge does not move up.
Just in case it might be related..........I just changed out the supercharger belt and it's lower pulley.
