Default engine mount

Good day every one and for a long time no see

I dropped off my car for brake work with all new pads and rotors but instead, we found that engine mount was in a very bad condition and on the test drive that engine was about the shake out of my car

but my car "felt" smooth on the road even at the high speed before going to the shop but now ,all the sudden.

Are you saying the car handled perfectly before the brake work but was shaking when you picked it up?

The left Engine Mount in your first pic is heat damaged and the right one is split.

This is a new one:

The damage to the left one in your pic is likely to have happened as it was being removed. The right one in your pic is worn out.

You mean they just replaced without consulting you? How do you know the mounts they showed you even came from your car? Maybe this is a shop you have used for years and trust implicitly, in which case I apologize.

I'm with RJ237 on this one......surely they didn't just replace without advising you and asking for permission to proceed??

That was pretty much implied in your original post when you said "we found that engine mount was in a very bad condition ... "

A very common problem.
It sounds like a front suspension clunk when they fail, like a worn bush...good to see it's fixed!

would worn engine mounts cause the car to shake a idle? even when in neutral or park?

a rough and ready test Safi - put the car in gear and press the break pedal rev the engine and see if it moves/twists up off the mount, this only tests the lhs mount though...if you can get a look under the car with a flashlight, the mounts weep oil if failed and it'll be obvious if they're shot.

According the Jaguar Parts Manual LH and RH Engine Mounts are the same.

There is a change in Part Number shown by VIN:

MNC7500AA (to VIN 818581)
MNC7500AB (from VIN 818582)

Aftermarket suppliers don't make any reference to this change so it may be a Jaguar supplier or material specification change only.

I suppose the first one is aftermarket, the second one is OEM.

You are correct!
I've contacted SNG and they've confirmed this is the case.

I also did ask if there are any difference, They said "OEM parts have better finish with an improved housing..."

I've ordered after market ones so will let you guys know how it differ from the OEM later!
