Good morning Saturday, brothers. Supposed to be a routine oil change. My machanic over filled the engine oil and spark plugs got wet with oil. Check engine light is not just on but flashing also the restricted performance warning light. Engine rattles hard in cold start.
he took off the plugs and cleaned with air gun,but it's not really helping. Please advise or share

What codes does it have? CEL flashing is usually bad, I'd avoid starting the car until you've pulled codes and found out what's going on. Hopefully it's just a fouled sensor somewhere but it's hard to say.

Re: Engine oil, there is a dipstick and drain plug to correct the level, has this been done? I have seen an over fill cause an event by over pressurizing the timing chain tensioners, they crack and fail leading to.....
Rattle sounds like a timing chain issue = codes would possibly be multiple miss-fires.
My advice, Do Not Start the Engine until you have removed a cam cover and inspected the timing.
Vincent, please don't run the engine until you've got a look at what's causing the rattle, it's like playing Russian roulette with every startup on your engine, the next one could be valves meeting pistons.

Dido on all the above. I would also change mechanics, even a backyard mechanics knows not to overfill the oil. and if did, you drain off the excess.if the problem is serious I would look into him making it right by paying the repair bill if it comes down to that
