Default Engine Stall & P0715 Code - Resolved

My '02 XJ8 VDP will intermittently stall on me while slowly accelerating. It never happens after the first start of the day. It usually happens after the car is warm, e.g. after a long drive on the freeway, or after several short trips running errands. It also seems to happen more ofter when on a bumpy road. When the car stalls, it runs through all the error messages, settling on "Transmission Fault," with or without the CEL. The car will not crank unless I let it set for 1-5 minutes. It may stall a couple of more time after that, then drive normally until the next day, week, or month.

The only codes my mechanic has been able to pull are P0715 and P1797. What do those mean, and what is the course of action to correct them.

A Jaguar tech said I might have a transmission leak.

I wonder if the problem is mechanical (i.e. transmission), or electrical (i.e. ECM, TCM)? Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Had the throttle body cleaned at a dealership. Car stall and died on the way home.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Default Resolved For Now

After trying many of the suggestions I read about on this site (clean the TB and connections; check alternator, grounds, and wiring; flush fuel injectors, etc.), I think I finally found the solution to my problem. When I opened the Control Module Enclosure Relays compartment, I noticed that the relays holder had come loose of its harness. I confirmed that each relay was seated tightly, then snapped the holder securely back into the harness. Since doing that, I have not had an issue with the car mysteriously dying at slow speeds, AC running, while going over bumpy roads.
Now, on to solving the issues of no driver's seat heat, intermittent lack of chimes from the steering column speaker, and only being able to open the trunk with my key.
You have love this car. It is still a head-turner after all these years.

May I ask where you found this harness? I appear to be having the same issue...

SS - I *think* he's talking about the box under the hood that houses the ECM along with a number of other modules/relays, it's against the bulkhead, 4 big flathead screws to get the lid off...

Thank you Sean. I went ahead and opend that compartment yesterday and checked all connections while there because I figured that was what he meant too. I just was not sure that was it because the relays being loose in the harness didn't seem like they would cause the miss. But, maybe bouncing around in there could make that happen, or maybe there was a loose connection. I've unplugged and replugged every connection I have come across (All Around the Car), so maybe these too will help. I have not road tested yet, but will today.

@Supersport
Not in any way being pushy but if you haven't solved your problem it would be a good idea to start a new thread - I've marked this one as 'Resolved' to help others which means you might not get many replies.

Thank you, I should have thought of that myself. I've done this long enough to know better.
