Default Error Messages on 98 xjr

Hey guys, got a question. I was driving on the freeway in traffic earlier today, and noticed that a orange light turned on in my dash, also my abs light came on, on top of that there were error messages concerning the traction control and the electronic stability or something like that. I got off the freeway, got to a red light and figured i would turn off the car and turn it back on to see if it would still read the same. I did that and the lights did not come back on. Im confussed on what it would be and why, i was not driving fast just stop and go? any help would be greatly appreciated on what i should do about it. Thnx.

lol, do you have another crystal ball? ok ok. i will try to go tomorrow and get the codes. but is it strange that they all appeared at the same time? or no. and why are they not showing now. Also if they don't come on again i won't be able to get the codes correct?

The module should store the codes, even if they're not active, so you should be able to retrieve them up until you intentionally clear the codes.

It's not rare for multiple systems to share errors when they share components. IE, the traction control and ABS both share wheel speed sensors and the same control module, so if there's a fault in either of those components, it will affect both systems. So, depending on what the error is, then it wouldn't be surprising at all.

lol, glad you didnt take offense to my sometimes smart **** nature, but yes theyre all really one system ABS, and the only reason it went off after key cycle is its not a hard(constant) fault. And yes it should retain the code in the ABS module
