fail safe mode while using the cruise control
After replacing a list of things with my car, I decided to take it on a 1000 mile journey. While driving through the desert, I engaged the cruise control. It worked fine until I was coming upon some cars and pressed "cancel" with thoughts of re-engaging the cruise control when I passed the cars.
At that point, the fail safe mode flashed. I pulled to the shoulder of the freeway and turned-off the engine. After a few seconds, I restarted the engine and same fail safe message flashed. Turned-off the engine again and waited a little bit longer. This time the message was off and I proceeded cautiously to my destination (still had another 2 hours to drive). The rest of the trip the car was great.
Any thoughts on what caused the fail safe message. Is it an easy fix. No biggie, I can live without the cruise control. I just dont want it leading to anything major in the future.
Thanks
