Hello all...

just finished putting in Fatmat's Rattletrap sound deadening pad in my 1999 xjr. What a difference in road noise!!!! I lined the door panels themselves, removed the water trap on the door and cut 1 solid piece the same size, lined the trunk, behind the back seat, the package tray, under the front carpet, and the sunroof and backside of the sunroof panel. It was well worth the effort. Also, on a sidenote, i switched the phase on the subwoofer in the package tray. i disconnected the plugs, then pulled the connectors out of the plugs and reversed them, so + was now -, - now +. it made a big difference in the bass response for the front passengers. Also, installed inifinity 6032i speakers in all the doors. the stereo sounds really good now, up to around 23-24 on the volume knob.

 

I've never used FatMat but I've put RAAMAT combined with Ensolite foam in my last 2 cars and it will be in every car I own. I don't have much experience with Jaguars yet but I would hope that they have a bit more insulation than my honda did. But wow what a difference! Drastic road noise reduction and engine noise. I put a piece of it right above the muffler too.
