As I seam to have got on top of the major faults its time to tackle the minor ones.
ever since I've had her the rear view mirror has been clear at the top 15-20 mm and dark tinted the rest.....its obviously one of the auto tinting ones.
when I push the button on it the green led lights up so its getting power but nothing changes..........any ideas????

It's very common for these mirrors to fail. I believe Sybesma's Electronics are the people to go for a rebuild, they do a fantastic job and were great to deal with.
Or, you can buy a unit for an Acura... can't remember exactly which model, but it's been covered either here, or in the XK forum

Good Morning,
Very common problem with these cars. The company that used to make them for Jaguar (and other makers) went bust years ago, probably due to the problems created by these mirrors. You should change the mirror as soon as possible because the fluid inside may leak out onto your centre console area and cause damage. They tend to go on ebay for around the £70 mark (the later ones are better - 2000 onwards). Make sure you get one with the correct coloured plastic connector at the end of the wiring (white or yellow). You'll need to remove the overhead console to disconnect the wiring and then remove the mirror by pushing downwards to release it from the screen bracket - can be very difficult to budge, but I find a small block of wood and a small hammer does the trick)
Good luck - Keith Quirk

Read a previous post regarding this and sent the mirror to Sybesmas in Michigan. The mirror came back like new.
