Default Few problems want some advice

Ok well still working on getting this car going properly so the first step was a tune up but after changing the plugs to some brand new NGKs the car wouldnt start. I went with NGKs cus I am a HUGE fan anyway tried 2 sets but car would not start. They would just get fuel soaked. Then decided to put the original plugs back in and boom started right up, weird................. went and bought some brand new factory champion plugs (an I hate champions) and like magic started right up. Called the jag parts depot and they confirmed that the engines run best with the factory plugs.

Ok now onto the little things that are annoying me. Car runs smooth but seems to have a small stubble when I first push the gas, dont know why but kinda stubbles before it gets going. It doesnt seem to go into first well kinda seems like it starts in 2nd, but found out the downshift switch wasnt working great took alot of effort for it to kick into the downshift any way to adjust this??.

Check engine light came on dont know what it is yet dont know how to check codes on it. Also for having 322hp and 378 torque shouldnt it get up and go pretty good??? Mine seems to only get going moderately decent I just installed a new blower belt and tightened it perfect the factory original was on it and man was it beat to hell cracked, frayed and loose. Well let me restate that I had to order the factory 7 groove belt it will be here tomorrow and in the mean time I put on a 6 groove, do you think it may be slippin having 1 less rib?? Also anything I should look into replacing while I am getting it ready for daily driver duty?? Love the car so far havent gotten to take it out much cus Im wanting to make sure it runs properly. I changed plugs, fuel filter, all belts, air filter, oil change, new tires, cleaned the maf, tighten up hoses and checked connections, gunna service the trans (what fluid should I use) Thanks for any help guys

Champion RC12YC or RC12YCC work best in your engine. They're the right temperature range and are traditional copper (or copper/copper in the CC) and should be changed about every 25 to 30K miles. Nothing else is going to run well in this engine.
