A few questions about coolant and waterpump
Gang, Im replacing my waterpump, radiator hoses and thermostat. I have the right coolant, but am unsure just how much will my car need once completely empty? I know Ill want to dilute it 50/50, so will one gallon of the antifreeze and one gallon of water be the right combo and amount?
Also, I dont believe it will actually be getting "flushed" per se, that is to mean no pressure of any sort I think will be applied to flush the cooling system. I think were just going to empty is, then do the job. Is that a bad idea?
TIA

You don't get all the old antifreeze out by draining and that is why it is a good idea to use the same coolant to refill. With a capacity of only about 9L I think that the 2 gal mix is going to be enough.
Thank you sir. It seems 9l is equal to about 2.37 gallons, so Im in good shape. I have more than enough. In a totally unrelated matter, any idea how much trans fluid my 98 XJR will take to refill once Ive drained it? Its another service I think the car should get since IVe only had it for about 1000 miles so far and the history isnt well known on my car
