FOBs, dead batteries and stubborn car
Hi!
My "new" purchase, a 1997 XJ8 Executive came with two fobs which both don't work. One had no batteries and the other had the batteries in the wrong way around.
Anyhow, new batteries don't let them respond to the stubborn XJ (who has gained a new name being Rusty Jag).
When the batteries are dead, do the fobs need to be reprogrammed to the car? If no, can used controls be reprogrammed to work with my car (I read something on the old X300 about using the valet switch and click click etc.)?
It is quite annoying having to unlock the door, instantly put the key in the ignition and then unlock the trunk/boot...
Cheers!
Damien
