I was washing my car today and saw that my left front foglight was broken. As far as I can tell, the part number is 1N123602800
Does anyone know if you can buy these new? Is there a difference in the part number between left and right? Is this something that can be replaced easily by myself?
I am responding to my own thread. I found the part at Autonation parts. https://www.autonationparts.com/part...IFJlc3VsdHM%3D It was about $226 for a new one. Hopefully it will actually arrive. I have ordered new parts for old cars before only to get an email that they are actually not in stock, so if anyone has another source. please post. Anyone ever replaced this themselves? Is it straighforward for a non mechanic?
Well, my X308 fog lights were not broken, but I threw them out anyway, as they are outdated.
I bought (probably on Aliexpress) pretty cheap X-Type / S-Type (they are the same) complete LED-fog lights with surrounding LED-DTRL angel-eyes (as I could not find those for the X308), and I simply "made them fit" with some DIY brackets - here is my post about that:
It’s easy enough to replace one. You’ll have to get the front up in the air and remove the under tray and you may have to partially remove the wheel arch liner. It’s held it place by three machine screws and I think they have torx heads if I recall.
The fog light sits in a vulnerable position on the car and are often scared with road rash. But it is possible to rejuvenate them if you have a bit of patience. But well done on finding the new part!
Does anyone know if you can buy these new? - LNC5092AB is still available, MSRP $302.62 (for used consider eBay, Jag-Bits, Jaguar Heaven, NOMA is in TX also).
Is there a difference in the part number between left and right? - It is the same number left to right.
Is this something that can be replaced easily by myself? - Stu gave proper guidance.
Be aware X/S-Type is a four bolt lamp and is not a direct bolt in (X308 is three bolt).
