Default Front End Nuisance

Going over small bumps or slightly rough roads (not big bumps) there is a very annoying bird chirp-like squeak. It is really only audible with the windows down. My indy mechanic couldn't diagnose it. He shifted the exhaust system around, checked bushings, etc. Any thoughts on what it could be?

sounds are very hard to diagnose...at what speed? Can you take a video with sound and post it up?

Can't record the sound now, as the car is in storage. But, it seems to occur in residential areas and anywhere with speed limits around 20-70 kph (12-45mph). I cannot notice it on the freeway, perhaps because there's too much wind noise.

probably a dry bush. It's a case of having a look underneath the vehicle. A can of lithuim spray grease or similar, and light squirts on suspension bushes on all four corners.

Sounds like your mechanic was on the right track. I found the heat shield on my driver side first catalytic convertor was chirping.

Default Same Problem-Found bushing on lower arm bad

The mechanic cannot diagnosis the bushings properly if he has the bushing loaded with weight from the front end. I had new bushing pressed in and away went the squeak in the right front end.

Interesting. Well, I can hardly wait to get the car out in two weeks and have this sorted. Thanks.
