front head rests

How do these come out. I want to put on seat covers. 1999 VDP. Thank You

Because they are electrically operated, I'm pretty sure you have to access and release them by removing the back of the seat.

FRONT: you can remove them by giving them a firm tuck upwards. But you run the risk of breaking the plastic frame which holds them in place inside the seat. If you want to be careful, remove the back cover of the seat, so you can support that plastic bracket while pulling each stanchion. Front pic below.

REAR: You will have to partially remove the rear seat to get behind the cushions, as you will need to remove the locking pins in the head rest stanchions.

Be aware that the side airbags may not be able to deploy if 'trapped' in a seat cover.
Ignore warning if you don't care.

Carefully pry the plastic arm off the ends of the headrest posts. Then the headrest comes out easily. When putting it back in, carefully push the plastic arm on to each rod. done.
