Default Front right shock stuck?? Pls help

It appears that my front right shock is stuck or something like that...when I push down on the front right of the car it doesn't move hardly at all...and the only thing that appears to give a little and compress is the top rubber bushing that I can see under the hood ...any idea what it is and if I can still drive the car...I just had a new engine put in so could that have anything to do with it? A own shock or bad spring? Pls help

Default Shock Issue

Sound like the shock has lost all its fluid. If so then the shock is bottoming out. If it were the spring you would be able to see a crack in the spring. The shocks are not that expenses, however check the top rubber bushing they are NOT part of the shock and if they are worn, and you will not be able to tell, tell you remove the top nut of the shock they are expenses like $ 200.00 just for those bushing. make sure you check the spring too. This would not have anything to do with your new engine since you do not have to take the front in down to install an engine. Hope this helps

And funny enough the right front shock is now unstuck and works fine... What is that all about... Was it stuck in place and then just popped free when I hit a bump...I am still having it replaced...
