Fuel filler door lock/unlock motor
2001 XJR 78,000 miles
I have noticed, more often than not, that the lock/unlock mechanism on my fuel filler door does not always function. I believe it's working, just not getting the oomph it needs or is sticking. By the time it's time to fuel up, the lock will be activated and I have to get into the trunk, pull back the lining and move the arm manually.
I spoke with someone who has some experience with Jags and he said it is not an unheard of problem. But I could not turn up anything in the search engine here.
Any benefit to spraying some WD40 or silicone onto the motor arm?

That works. So does locking all doors, then unlocking with your remote.
I find if I pop the hood, the gas door won't open. So, I get out, open the gas filler, then reach in and open the hood for an oil check.
