Fuel pump harnes?
Hi everyone, i'll try to make it short
had my xj8 y1998 standing outside the house for 2 years ( snow, rain, sun and so on) finished my garage and decided to take the car in, turned the engine by hand a few times then cranked it with fuel pump fuse out to lift the oil, after that car started immediately.
After standing in the garage about 2 months I needed to pul in other car for engine rebuild but this time the jag refused to start, no smell of unburned fuel came from exhaust pipes... Since lack of time I haven't checked if there are fuel in the cylinders or if fuel pump makes any sound ( will do that next time)
So my question , is it possible that electrical connections of the pump could be oxidized and if yes where should I look? ( humidity in the garage is quite high since house is not finished yet and it's not heated)
What else should I check? Relays? Can I test the pump without taking it out? Connecting it directly to battery perhaps?

When you put it in the garage did you let it warm up? If not, bore wash is the likely to be the problem. You can check fuel pump by switching ignition on, then push in pin on schrader valve on fuel rail. It looks like a tire valve. Have a rag around it to catch the fuel.
