If I were to have a cluster put in from a donor XJ8 what would my mileage be is it stored on my car's computer or would it be the previous vehicle's mileage?The one I have has been toast since my uncle owned it now I'm ready to have it replaced.

 

The gauge cluster has two print plates.
- The large one behind the gauges for everything cluster + some car functions.
- The small one behind the ODO / message display, which also stores the ODO.

If you swap clusters (there seems to be a limit on the manufacturing date of the car in relation to the manufacturing date of an acceptable cluster), you will move the ODO with it.

Good thing, you can easily disconnect the ODO print plate, and have them remain with the original car.
