Default good online parts shop - where?

Hi, just bought a 1999 XJR and only has 2 issues - headliner and broken fog light, driver side. where can i get a good replacement for the fog light? I'm guessing it would be 100 to 125 since i just purchased one for my Tahoe which was $85.

I got a new radiator tank from www.oemonlineparts.com They beat the dealer's price to the point that I got a new hose and shipping for way less than if I had gone to the dealership.

Default Source for parts

A couple other sites are partstrain.com and autohausaz.com

I had the same issues... headliner still pending fix, but the fog light, I actually got from a guy here on the forum. He had purchased it and never used it. I paid around the $85 mark from him. I was searching Fleabay and just never finding a good enough used one, but that is the way I would go. The fog light is left / right interchangable, and is the same from '98-'03 and not R dependent.

Here is one on Fleabay, used but the clarity seems good, it just needs the lens cleaned. Also, very cheap at $20 for just 9 hours left. If you aren't aware of auction sniping sites, I highly recommend signing up with Auctionsniper.com. You set the price and at the last second they will place the bid for you. The great thing is that you don't run the price up needlessly and don't show your hand until the end.

I was told that jagbits.com was fairly reputable. I recently ordered new lenses from there.

Maybe reputable but about 20% MORE expensive that Jaguar dealer FULL retail price.

The best price I have found online is from: Jaguarmerriamparts.com.

Using part # LNC6318AB as an example:
Jagbits: $57.38
Dealer: $49.90
Jaguarmerriam: $43.13

Default look at this thread:Where Is the Best Place to Get Parts?

Hi Rickcusaf
I also want to thank you for your service to our country.
There is another forum thread that will give you a bunch of valued places to buy parts and other stuff for your Jaguar.
Here is the weblink:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/j...t-parts-51995/

Also if you are intersted in getting a Jaguar Shop Repair manual CD (JTIS 21) and you have a 32 bit PC. Here is another forum thread that 2 has Ebay listings for it and is under $6:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/j...hipping-52682/

I hope this helps you in your search for parts and information.

Some good source links above, definitely worth checking out when shopping for that part that is going to say...be more than $25.

Dont forget to consider giving our forum sponsors a shot also - Gaudin Jaguar and Nalley Jaguar for your parts needs, they by far are the cheapest source for OEM products...and I've looked extensively online for the last 4 years trying to find the best deal; I've gotten 90% of all my stuff from them together. Bilstein shocks, though OEM part, I sourced online at 1/3 the dealer cost, tie rod ends, ...stuff like that doesn't count. but if you need a purge valve, expansion tank, heater hose, bushings, sensors, etc...these two are where I shop. Guadin has very cool interactive, online parts search database with diagrams (check the link above) and Nalley Jaguar is always within +$10 of them when you mention jaguarforum membership (15% off), but they sweeten the deal with free UPS shipping for anything over $25 so sometimes, that shipping savings makes all the difference. So far, Nalley has never failed to get me a part that I needed either. For instance, I was told a new armrest in my trim color was not available from a british parts ebay seller. Called Dan at Nalley, and he told me it was simply in production over in the UK, and he showed an approximate 2 week wait until they were ready to be distributed to dealers.

A sincere thank you from me also Rick.

Default Also look at Welsh Enterprise - Thermostat Housing Pkg

Hi
I should have included Welsh Enterprise. Their price on the thermostat housing package is only about $65 for aluminum parts versus the plastic parts they are replacing (that do not stand up to time). The plastic parts are also more expensive everywhere.

Depending on what you need, partsgeek.com can be good. Got a coil for my '91 Jag for half what everyone else wanted to charge me. BTW, what branch of the military? I was in the army and my daughter just joined the navy.

I've been in the Air Force for about 7 1/2 years now. Stationed in Hawaii and now FL. Loving every minute of it so far.

So apparently the transmission doesn't have an actual dipstick for normal operation? I've been trying to locate a "filler cap", but I honestly don't quite know what part I'm looking for. All I know is that my transmission currently has an open cover.

Default I extracted the transmission fuid r&i from JTIS CD

Hi
By doing numerous JTIS extractions, I am trying to help other members with the instructions and illustrations on how the Jaguar Techs do the repairs.
Here is the Transmission Fluid r&i I extracted this morning:
2000 XJR Transmission Fuid r&i.pdf

Hope this helps.

thanks everyone for the great information! Being new to Jag ownership, it really helps having seasoned owners provide input.

Just ordered my new MAF from nalley today. They were incredibly helpful and hopefully this fixes my problem. Talked to Jaguar and a local mechanic and they think my MAF has gone out and I may need to replace an O2 sensor as well.
