Headliner woes
1998 XJ8, wanting to do the headliner. My question is can I get the old one out and use it? and where can I buy headliner cloth material. Oatmeal color. I know this subject has probably worn out but thanks in advance for the help. Vince
I would simply go to an upholsterer and find out their price, I think mine was $125, but that was 12 yrs ago. They have the adhesive spray guns, adhesive and foam padding. They probably have the color hanging on the wall or can dye to match and should come with a guarantee (mine had a 5yr). Many can reuse your existing material, barring condition, so you have the perfect match. The biggest issue with a Jag of any type is availability and I have found local shops can get the material, through their sources, ..for pretty much the same cost than if you can find it on the inter web.
Perhaps some other folks will chime in with some source info of their own?

The Florida dealer who sold me my car last summer had it done before they shipped it to Texas. $200. In Florida there are shops that do nothing else. They got the shell out through the back door. I've read in an old thread where the rear window has to come out....apparently not so. Definitely a two or three person job though.
