Hello All... I've got a random heat shield that goes on the driver side (LHD) cat that I can not for the life of me figure out how to install it back on. Can someone possibly help? I've attached files and someone at a dealer has already sent me the part diagram but no one can help me on installation.

If you mean you can't get it back down where it belongs, I had a struggle when I did it. Getting it past the hoses and wiring looms takes a lot of maneuvering. I used hex head cap screws to attach it to the bracket, not enough clearance to tighten the torx head screws easily.

 

I got that one with the 3 torx screws installed no problem, but this one works in conjunction with that one and I can't figure out how.

 

What engine are you working on? My XK8 and a 2000 XKR have only one heatshield on the left cat.

 

2003 XJ8. AJ26 Its a odd combination of heatshields. Its right by where the steering column comes through the fire wall.

 

I don't think the 03 used the AJ26, but there is obviously a difference between the XJ8 and XK8, so I don't have a clue.
