Help 2001 xjr supercharged engine blown
I am looking for an engine for 2001xjr supercharged. It can be used, remanufactured or rebuilt. I live in Georgia. Does anyone know where to get one. Looking for something low miles but reasonable! Looking asap! Thanks
Keep an eye out for later model 4.2's as well, they make a nice little upgrade.
I don't know the specifics, but the swap has been done many times both here, and in the XK section

There are several factors that cause water to get into the engine oil, including leaking intake manifold gaskets, cracked engine castings and a blown head gasket. What I would do is look under the oil cap and on the oil cap do you see a brown oily sludge like milkshake? if so it is a blown head gasket

I have an 03 XJR engine with 123,000 miles on it that runs fantastic and has no leaks. It's still in the car though, and I don't really have the resources to remove it in the near future.
But, it sounds like yours may not be counted out yet. I would get a more detailed diagnosis before I yanked it out and replaced it.

What is it leaking from? It may br easier to fix the leak than to replace the engine. Check the oil filter it could be the problem.
Sounds to me like it might be an electrical problem. How much oil did it leak? Does the starter engage but won't turn the engine over? Could be a ground or possibly the false bulkhead. The engine might be toast but give the symptons, it might ne something else.
How did the oil level get that high. The only way I can think of is water in the oil or it was overfilled. Is there water in the oil? How did the car run the last time it was driven?
Can you see where the oil is comming from?

Might be headgasket and if it overheated you might have dropped valve seats. You proably better off finding a replacement engine or you have a lot of work ahead of you. It was worth trying to figure it out.
Good luck.
