hi, the central locking has seemed to have packed up, ive got out to lock it the lights flash like the cars locked but the doors have to bee locked individually, and when i pres the unlock button i can hear the mechanism but nothing unlocks, what can it be? i have not looked anywhere

 

That happened to me on a 01 xj8. Had to replace the locking module in the truck. About $800 for the part. I could not locate a used one. Then I had to reprogram the remotes.

 

Might want to check all fuses first however.

 

If you have to replace the module I can tell you how to reprogram your remotes. Takes about 8 seconds. they charge you a lot to do that at the dealership I understand.
