Default help xj8 windows gone weird

anyone come across this.my dad washed car with window slightly open ,all fine until left for few days then windows stoped working of drivers door switch bank but would work of individual door switches apart from drivers door window.passenger window would still work of drives door switch.removed door wich bank on drivers door opened up and found corosion in switch.got hold of replacement used switch bank fittted to door but now drivers window works on rear passenger window button on the switch bank but no other windows will work off that bank of switches.the windows will work of their own door swithes eliminating motor problems.on refitting the original swith the drivers window clicks on the same oposite rear button but does not move.tne consule display is also saying drivers dooris open when it is closed but opening the drivers door changes the display to saypassenger door open.weird eh..... any sugestions very much appreciated thanx

Don't do anything else until you try disconnecting the battery for a couple of minutes. I have seen that exact pattern several times before, the LF door module has lost its mind.

Try doing what I said, I don't see a problem. You can touch the positive cable to the negative once it's disconnected, my understanding is that this will discharge any capacitors without harm. I never bother, I just pull off a cable.
