Has anyone attempted to replace the transmitter in the roof console with a modern rolling-code Homelink version? I have a Homelink bridge installed on my garage door opener, which lets me use the original buttons in my '98 XJR, but I like to tinker. I would like to find a modern transmitter that would fit in the roof console, allow me to use rolling codes, and still let me use the original buttons on the console. Anyone ever done this? I haven't looked into it much, but a search for "homelink" didn't reveal any threads on this. Thanks.

 

I am sorry: this is a cranky Monday. WHY? I guess you could grab one from a junked 01 or newer and replace yours (both of my 01s had rolling code Homelinks). This assumes I understand what you are trying to do.
