Going to buy a new garage door opener. Anybody know if I will need the adapter for homelink I or do the X308s have homelink II?

I had to get an adapter for my Chamberlain opener. I have a 98 XJR, not sure if they changed them to homelink 2 in later models or not. The good news is that the adapter was cheap, easy to install, and the button in the car works fine now.

Edited to add: I remember having to go through the programming steps a few times because I skimmed the instructions too quickly. Follow them carefully the first time and you'll be fine.

 

I had no problem with mine: as noted above, follow the instructions carefully, the critical point is getting to the buttons on the door motor fast enough.
