Hello,

Trying to work out how to get to the front turn signal and replace/check the bulb. Cant decide if it pops out (don't want to scratch the fender), or if i have to remove the fender etc.

Any help or link to an informative post would be great.

From the owners manual, press in the inner side of the light unit, then insert a screwdriver into the outer side to release the spring clip. Remove lamp housing. Twist bulb holder 90deg to remoce. Replace bulb

If you don't have the owners manual, get one (I think there are download links in the sticky threads). You may also want to consider downloading JTIS, the software repair manual for these cars. Again I think there's a sticky for it

Great information - Finally worked out that it is best to go to the first year of production in JTIS.

Replaced the bulb no problem. Still no turn signal, i have found a blown fuse, which may also be connected to the blown fog light on the riught hand side.

I want to change/check the fog light before dropping in a new fuse. So my next question . . . How do i change the fog light? no luck with the manuals etc.

Owners manual recommends taking it to the dealer.

JTIS has the info.

XJ 1998MY --> Electrical --> Lighting, Exterior --> Removal and installation --> Fog Lamp Bulb

Basically you need to take off the undertray then the fog lamp bulbs are easily accessible
