Default How do i open the coolant cap?

Just replaced the 90 degree coolant hose that goes into the thermostat, now it's overheating. Trying to get the air out and the reservoir cap just keeps spinning. Is there a trick to open the coolant cap on a 2000 XJR? Or am i retarded. Can someone suggest a way to burp the system, just noticed i drove it overheating for 3 or 4 minutes, car doesnt give you much of a warning, just a tiny red light.
Any suggestions?

There is a large port used for bleeding the coolant system. It is on top of the engine oversized Allen wrench needed (I used a big nut to get it open). Suggest getting the JITS manual it outlines the procedure. Make sure both your fans are operating when the engine is overheating.... not sure what is up with your cap.

Be very careful using the Allen wrench taking the cap off the thermostat housing. It is plastic and only comes with the complete housing if you break it. Very easy to break.

The Allen wrench I was referring to is a bleed port... maybe only on the S/C models? The one I'm talking about is not near the thwrmostat housing....btw he should probably consider changing the thermostat if he got the system that far open.

Seems the old owner change it to the aluminum one.. It was a pain is the *** to tighten the bottom clamp on that 90 degree hose. I assume this bleeder is one of the screws just behind the supercharger on the top of the engine?
Thanks
