cannot figure out where the clips or screws are??? please help

 

The first thing you have to do is get the wood panel out of the tray. You need something like a putty knife under one side of it to pry it up, all the while hot letting it slip to ding up the top surface! The ideal tool would be like a putty knife but have a slight curvature to the blade, so as to get some leverage under the edge of the panel.

I SUPPOSE one might be able to get several suction cups stuck to the panel, and pull it out that way!

 

I always used a right angle pick. Very gently squeeze it between the wood and the leather side. Turn the pick in and gently pull up. There are two small bushings that line up the wood panel to the console extension (the official name) Under the wood you will find two phillips screws. Remove them. Bring the console extension towards you. Be very careful not to pull too far as the backs of the heater switches will pop out of the switches. Turn the panel over and disconnect the switches and there you have it.
