Remove the steering wheel

and

Hi Waterdragon,

Disconnect the battery negative cable.
Turn steering wheel 90 degrees and undo the torx screw located at the back of the steering wheel, turn the steering wheel 180 degrees and undo the second torx screw, lift out the airbag and disconnect the connectors to remove the airbag. You may be able to get away with using an allen (hex) key if you do not have a "torx".
Next undo the nut that holds the steering wheel to the steering column and pull off the steering wheel.
There will be a tag on the steering wheel that has a 3 letter code for the colour if it's AEK then I may be interested in buying the wheel.

Hey there, last time I remember you were putting in
a gen V blower and drag radials, and now I'm seeing you
in the For Sale section parting out the car. What happened
to the XJR?

15 mm socket for steering wheel nut
T30 torx bit
The previous instructions are good so I did not repeat.
Sorry it has come time to part the car.

Wahhhhh whAHHHHHHHH wHahhAAAAHHHh BOOM! bugady bugaudy rattle rattle (expensive sound)

The short story is I had my injectors cleaned and one got cracked either by the cleaning service or by me when I put it back in, then a hydrolock which must have barely bent a rod, then, after 1000 miles, threw the rod.

But I LOVE my new Black Pearl over Ivory 2000 XJR Looks and drives like new. Pictures and write up to come when I get the engine back together. Had the TB ported and I'm port matching the elbow, charge coolers and blower a small amount (because it is there, begging for porting). Eventually, this car will get a lower pulley instead of the upper on the WD. I first want to make sure the tune is correct for that amount of boost, and fuel delivery, etc is all correct before adding a lower pulley. I'm adding some additional cooling too which I will provide a write up about too. Some muppets might make a cameo too... Fun Fun Fun!

The way I see it is I completely molested the first XJR and learned many things. Now I get to start over with a fresh slate and babied from new car. Pretty good deal for me as I see it.

The last car ran a 13.2 1/4 mile. My goal for this one is solid 12's

I should clarify:

I want to A: Remove the steering wheel with the air bag intact.

and B: Also remove the passenger airbag on the other side of the car.

I do not yet have buyers for these (runnerpaul-you have dibs if it is your color), but wanted to get them out and ready to sell since they are valuable

Okay, so you diagnosed that as a bent rod, got it.
I'm surprised it made it all the way home with such
Serious damage. No comprehensive insurance? :/

Good luck with the black car, it looks sweet!

Towed it home on a flatbed.

The $#s work out just fine considering I paid so little for the replacement and I really like the black pearl over ivory. I still have another Blue Zircon over Oatmeal, so no need to have 2 of the same. The opportunity cost of my time to replace the engine is worth quite a bit more than the cost of the car, so it is much cheaper for me to just buy another one.

I'm not too concerned over the cost since I'm paying like 9% of original cost anyways. These cars are the best deal out there considering the quality.
