Default How to repair leather seat splitting at seam?

Passenger seat leather has just split open at the seam in one spot, I'd like to repair before it gets bigger (currently only a couple inches of seam opened up) - how do I fix or who do I take it to for that?

Fyi, I've got a vdp, so different leather than standard x308.

Is it the stitching that has failed, or did the leather tear?

Stitching, but it is (normally) recessed into the seam, like it was stitched from the underside.

Maybe an auto upholstery shop or a regular place that upholsters furniture.

It was. You need to take the seat out of the car, remove the seat cushion, take the cover off the foam, and stitch it or have it stitched.

To remove the seat skin you'll need a set of knipex type cutters, hog ring pliérs and hog rings to re install once it's been repaired.

You'll have one if you buy it on Ebay for $20.
