Default Icarsoft I930 scanner ..STAY AWAY !!!!!!

It is always unpleasant to say bad things about any company but these people are so bad , I felt it important to warn fellow readers and Jag owners of just how really bad this company truly is.....

If you read posts on this Icarsoft I 930 you discover that this scanner's failure to communicate with various Jaguar ECUs is as common as it gets.
Be advised that Icarsoft has KNOWN about this notorious problem for YEARS now and refuses to fix it or back up this device in anyway. They HAVE ZERO technical support and if you do get any response all you get is a total "runaround and "stall job". Their "strategy is to "yank your chain" until you get disgusted and just give up trying to get any help from these people.

In my case, I have been trying to troubleshoot short term and long term fuel trim problems ( running rich) in my 2003 (x308) supercharged XJR. In my experiments with the I 930 it appears that this device will communicate with modules on the CAN Bus but can not communicate with the serial bus ( ECU). This is a disaster for trying to identify fuel trim readings as they must come from the ECU. If you have this device and have the ECU communications error..FORGET IT. It will NOT BE supported and fixed. Forgot to add that OBDII mode fails also ( again Comm error with ECU).

Some users here report that the ICarsoft works on their cars.... many report that it doesn't...... Clearly, Icarsoft is not going to fix what could have been a good scanner. So my advice to you is if you buy one , make sure you have a money back return period.. Your first move should be to make sure it can communicate with your car's ECU. If it doesn't, unload it as fast as possible. otherwise STAY AWAY from this company !!!!

Forgot to add that all other scanners I've tried with my Jag work fine in communicating with the ECU..... My guess is that the I930 has timing problems with its communications software

I'll second this assessment.
I bought an i930 several years ago. It actually worked fine at first. Months later it prompted for a firmware update. It never worked after, I would get the communications error.

I contacted tech support, they gave me the run-around that a new firmware update would be coming. Months went by, nothing. They then stopped responding to emails.
Terrible company.
