increasing boost on a 99 xjr
I have a 99 XJR with the cast iron sleeves the 2 previous engines w/ nikisel died while under warranty.
Was planning on changing the size of the lower pulley to increase boost, spoke to Eaton about this they said chip needs to be flashed as computer won't recognize the increase.
1. Is this correct?
2. Will boost increase result in more power?

Changing the size of your pulley will indeed increase power.
The timing of the engine will not change and the mass air flow meter will register how much air is being pulled in
thus ECM will increase fueling.
I had a 2000 xjr with an underdrive pulley that screamed.
Only problem he has was finding belts.
