info XJ8 4.0 Execitive
Hello everyone I ask for information for my xj8 4.0 executive year 2001 reading the forum I do not see this model from you in the US am I wrong? Is the ACDelco water pump the one with metal pallets you can buy in EU? do you think the Executive model has the provision for heating the seats? thank you now for those who want to answer. PS this is the forum where I see more fans of beautiful Jaguar
You can modify it yourself if you can find a seat heating pad . Do you have the switch and light on the instrument panel ? Could be simple as a blown fuse or your not feeling it right as it stays on at all times with the switch and not regulated so it would be weaker then you think so it doesn't get too hot .
I do not have switch on the dashboard I'm interested in knowing which cables I have to follow under the seat to see if the seats are ready at that point I'm going to buy the switches, otherwise I have to do with an aftermarket kit?
The wiring and connectors are already in the existing wire loom for the heated seats. You would need to get the seats from a donor car X308 and swap the entire seats. The you would need the buttons from the donor car and they can be installed and will plug in to your existing center console.
With a donor car it is a simple plug and play. If you go aftermarket you would have to find power in the seat control module and a location for after market controls.

It is good if you already have heated seats. It isn't any good if installed on a non heated seat. It is a repair part for heated seats.

You can't buy parts to make a NON-Heated seat HEATED.
On the inside of heated seat is a built in multi-plug harness for the heaters to plug into. In a non-heated seat they are not there.
Next in a heated seat the multi-plug wires run down and connect to the Seat Control Module. NON-heated seats do not have the wiring to connect to the SCM. Last but not least, the SCM in a NON-heated seat doesn't have the control circuits to activate a heater.
The most common method is to take Heated seats from another car along with the SCM and the dash switches the everything plugs in and works.
With enough time and money you can duplicate a stand alone heating system but by the time you go through all of that, it would have been cheaper and faster to swap out the seats.
