Over the weekend I realized i had no j-gate illumination or cruise switch. I know you can solder in new lighting module bulbs but what about cruise switch bulb? Does it have to be replaced?

Then this morning my Rear fog "on" led went out in switch. Cant tell if on or off.

Already replaced inst cluster bulbs. I guess it is time for them all to fail.

 

Is this on an xj8? The whole left side of my cluster doesn't light up! Bulbs likely, but is it easy to access them? Thanks

 

I had instrument and shifter gate . All started faILING AT SAME TIME.

 

If you're refering to the speedo / rev counter instrument display you have 1 or 2 bulbs gone.
Easy enough to remove the instrument pack and replace - there are a few posts about this.
All you will need is a magnetic philips screwdriver and a pair of pliers.
With the pack removed the larger bulb holders (there are 4) can be removed by twisting anti-clockwise with the pliers. The bulbs can then be pulled out and replaced.
You will need the 504 3W type push in bulbs which cost pennies. You may as well replace them all while you're there.
Disconnect the battery -ve terminal before comencing.
