Default Interior LED questions

I changed out most of the interior lights for LED's tonight (194 style) and the dome and rear interior lights still have a dim glow to them when off.

The puddle lights and trunk lights seem to turn completely off however the dome/interior lights seem to be partially lit. Is there a solution for this? Is it my bulbs?

I took them out tonight so I don't end up with a dead battery but if there is a solution or other experience I would love to hear it.

Thats how they are. I used the LEDs as my city lights (inside the high beam light) and noticed that they would stay on after I turned lights off. Bugged me, but then I heard similar story from another owner (non Jag) that used them for interior lights as well. I didn't notice any drain on the battery.

there's a term for it but having a brain fart - it's residual current in the circuit, no drain, just super efficient bulbs. My car sports a tint so they're not an issue to me. First time, makes you think there's a door open. I expect mine to last the life of the car.

Problem solved - adding a resistor did the trick.

On to more lights and more LED work!

What size is the resistor & where did you purchase them, I realize this is an older thread, but it's worth a shot.

200 ohms and are wired parallel as a bleed off circuit , no battery drain as the LEDs power switch is off . They would be hanging on the wall if you had a decent electronics trade store in town as I do .

Yea not worried about drain, but the lingering glow from residual current would get on my nerves swiftly lol.

I'll check the local electronic haunts soon.

Thanks !

This trick would not regain the tail light lamp out current sensor function of the Lamp Control Module as this trick would always see a current . To find the correct resistor to do that can be done in theory but not practical for a LED . We had this on some of the airliners to automatically switch out to a spare non - LED higher current bulb to save delays while on the through flights , but you don't have the money .
