Texas Cars Direct is a great dallas area place for jaguars, alot of people recooment this place, I have heard on several forums.

This is the cheapest XJR they have, but look at the inventory, they have a lot of nice cars.

You should go check them out tho, they have some XJ8s that are fairly new for less then 15,000

don't ever put sediment filled gas in one of those. an inconvenience for you and a bad day for the gas station.

I think anything 200 or newer won't have the nikisil problem, at least that's how it is in XK8's, IDK about Xj8s, but it's the same engine so I would assume.

That;s all I can help you with there, cuz it is the same engine as my dad's car, and we haven't had anyproblem with Jag's V8 engine, it's a good injun.

I, too, have had a 300 SEL 6.3 (1970). That car was a monster! The XJR is much more refined. You dont feel the torque through the transmission as you do with a 6.3. It's more like the 6.9. Mercedes toned down the torque converter in the 6.9 tranny. That's why the 6.3 is actually faster to 60 than the 6.9. Annyhoo, having owned a 6.3 and driven my buddy's euro 6.9, I still LOVEmy XJR. However, $15K or under you may be limited to 1999 or older. If you can get a 2000 or newer, you should go for it - no Nicasil issue. If you get a car with 70K miles or more, change the timing chain tensioners (if they havent already been done.)
