Jaguar 3.2 xj8 (308) vibration
Vibrations XJ308 3.2
Can anyone advise please the problem is severe vibration when starting from cold, the car starts instantly and responds to the throttle, but vibration is present and rocks the car, the car if engaged into gear the problem becomes worse and it will not drive, left running for about 15 mins and its ok.
Once warm it responds ok and can be driven all day no error codes, plugs have been changed, it was serviced 6 months ago, a air leak was mentioned and new manifold seals have been put in place the problem still exists.
A throttle body problem was mentioned i have cleaned this to no avail
Any advice would be most welcome

Year and model would be most helpful...the 3.2 was not a N American option and this is a world forum. Simply put it in your signature to save posting it.
Vacuum leaks, ...cam cover vent tube clogged, ...air filter dirty, ...check fuel pressure, ...could have a sticking injector, ...have the tensioners been replaced ...have you done a compression test?

To HH's list, add Temperature sensor. If the ECU thinks it is cold outside (bad sensor input), it will enrich at start up, even tho it is quite warm this time of the year and vice versa. Once it warms to the temp the sensor is sending, the system cleans up.
Next clean the MAF sensor and check the pins for alignment or bending -- a bent pin for temp sensor will provide the wrong input.
And last, maybe the engine mounts are bad.
