Jaguar XJ8 Security module concern
Well, Kinda curious as to if I'm able to by pass this security module all together some way?
I bought a jaguar not long ago the past month, Runs and drives great! Now, It has an issue though!
Started off being the brake lights not working, The "Bulb failure" error and the "Valet" mode was stuck on with the "trunk open" being stuck shown as well and wasn't.
After hours of searching for reasons, I narrowed it down to the security control module under the rear fuse box. Took it apart and bam! Indeed, was the whole problem with this car!
It was badly damaged by moisture and has a few blown caps, resistors w/e and severely rusted. Explains it all!
I ordered one of the same or better firmware I believe so i don't have to reprogram the ECU with it and just the alarm only.
But, I'm still curious? Is there a way to by pass that thing all together? Seems like its a bother, And to be in control of the brake lights? Yeah. Makes no sense.
