Default JTIS Auto Burn download worked Perfectly

Hi
I just tested the JTIS Automatic CD Burning Version and it worked perfectly. Everthing is pretty automatic, after you download the 5 files (when it shows run or save, use the save option).
Here is the weblink to the download files:
Free File Hosting Made Simple - MediaFire
Choose the 1st one - JTIS Automatic CD Burning Version.

Here is a JPEC file showing the 5 files after the download, also
the JTIS Disk1.exe that was created after I ran JTIS_Disc_1_Auto_Burn.part1.exe" :

You need to run JTIS Disk1.exe to create the CD. After the CD is created, the CD will autoplay and will install the JTIS. When JTIS install completes, you need to run the DA0 install that is on the CD in the DAO35\DISK1\SETUP.EXE. You will need to restart your PC for your DAO install to be activated.

If you need help, first review the JTIS DIY ( go to post #1 https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/j...how-use-52643/ ). You should not have any problems installing it on XP 32 bit PC.

You may have security access problems installing the DAO with Vista 32 bit PC. See the following weblinks:

This second one is a link to a step by step DIY that SirJag created:

This next one is a tread with a number of posts related to the issues:

I have seen posts on the forum recently about errors on the JTIS files after the downloads are complete. One error message was " Packed data CRC failed on disc1" from the JTIS ISOs downloads (post #9 https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/j...how-use-52643/ )

Thanks to forum member SuperSport for creating the download files.

Hi Jim
I tryed to download the JTIS files but hit an error after about 1/2 hour into it (bad file checksum error) I tied to ignor it and go on but It hung at that point. I tried it twice.
Any sugestions? Is there somewhere else I can get the steps for removing the spindle to replace the wheel bearings?
TIA
Chuck

I'm sure I speak for most folks on these forums when I offer my most sincere gratitude for all your efforts in making JTIS available to us wrench twisters, Jim.

Out of curiosity, did you used to frequent the Jag Lovers forums for late model cars? Your name seems familiar, but I'm still a newbie round these parts.

Hi chuck schmit
Welcome to the forum. Here is the link to the New JTIS21 CD download with download instructions thread:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...s-54640/page2/

This thread has a lot of information about downloading, installing, and using the JTIS21 shop repair manual.

Go first the post#1 for download and general information, also post #12. If you do a forum search on the JTIS21 string, it will result in a lot of other threads on the forum that you might find interesting.

A few of us forum members are working on a document that will give step by step on how to do a direct install the JTIS21 software (32 bit) on computers with win7 64 bit operating systems (without having to use virtual machine option and XPmode software).

I am also working on separating the various Jaguar models in the JTIS installation software (X_Type, S_Type, XJ8 & XJR, XK8 & XKR). By trial and error, I found these files in the data folder.

I have already created a self extracting archive for the X_Type model years that is 278 megs (2 files - 143 megs & 138 megs).

The Graphic folder (225 megs) within the Data folder is the reason why the JTIS21 software archives are so large. Since all the Jaguar model instructions use the images in the graphic folder, I could not figure out a way to eliminate any of them.

I am thinking about breaking the X_Type archive into 2 pieces - Graphic folder in one archive and the rest of the folders & files in another archive. Then after the download and extraction of other files archive, the Graphic folder archive would be extracted into the Data folder on the PC.

The existing JTIS21 download (all models) self extracting archive is 435 megs (3 files are 191, 191, 53 megs).

Hope this helps.
