Hi Folks,
I saved an XJR from the wreckers.
It started at the yard, and although the shifter was very stiff, it would engage reverse.
I got it home, and found that the ball at the bottom of the shifter was bent back, and no longer engaged the linear switch. Someone likely forced it.
I unhooked the cable, and got things to move, but now I can't get it to start.
I know the micro switch on the shifter has to be depressed, and the upper slider of the linear switch should be forward, and the lower part rear-ward.
I'm not sure if there's anything in the rotating cover that has the P R N D on it.
I'd like to get this running, and hopefully see if the trans wroks.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Rob
I'd check the Marketplace, top task bar, 4th from the left. Col. Sandurz recently wrecked his and has many parts available. Btw, I already got the shift indicator plate.
Thanks for the quick response. I may have to buy parts.
I'm trying to get the motor to crank over, but I need the right combination of switches to enable
Thanks,
Rob
