Maybe his parents should put him up for adoption because he is not the son they wanted.

I can understand wanting a Jaguar but if one of my kids did that to me I would send them the link to the Uber app.

I bet it all started with a pattern of the parents giving him expensive gifts like BMWs in the first place.

Yes, easy come easy go. Whenever I would ask my father for money he said to first save up half then he will match the rest.

There are younger guys here who can only dream of affording a new 3 Series.

When I was a 16 year old, my father very generously bought a very used, but practical car for my older sister and me to learn to drive in. It only took a couple of weeks for my sister and me to start arguing about who was not buying their fair share of gas.

My father heard us arguing. The next day the car was sold and gone.

Lesson learned!

If I were a King or Dictator (or maybe POTUS), every young person would get their first car the same way I did. My father towed home a wrecked, late model car with a blown engine and told me "Son, if you can fix it, you can drive it." Back then there was no internet so I had to go to the library and check out a chiltons shop manual and several books on how cars worked and general repair procedures. Dad only helped just enough to make sure that I didn't hurt myself. I had to work all summer at a home and garden store to earn enough money to buy all the parts and supplies and then pay for a budget level paint job. But by the start of school in the Fall, I was driving. Little did dad know that was going to be the start of a lifelong car hobby, but even if I never picked up a wrench ever again, I was by then familiar enough with the inner workings of cars that no shady mechanic would ever be able to take advantage of me. But probably best of all, I drove very carefully because I knew EXACTLY how many hours I had sweated unloading plants from the back of trucks into the greenhouse to pay for that paint job and I was determined that I was not going to get a scratch on it.
