I bought this 1998 XJ8 in December and just registered it as a historic vehicle. I recieved all the service and ownership records when I bought the car. in December 2017. I had bought an XJ6 new in 1982 and our family really liked the XJ6. The XJ8 looks similar and I had the opportunity to buy one being sold nearby at a decent price. The seller was the tech that had maintained the car for the past 4-5 years while he was working at a local independent Jaguar shop. Vint Cerf, the owner of the car, gave this fellow, who had been laid off from the shop, the car. While Vint Cerf may not be as famous as Steve Jobs, he and Robet Kahn invented the TCP/IP protocol and is considered one of the fathers of the internet. As a member of the IEEE myself, it's kind of cool to own this Vint Cerf car.
