Default Key fob functions?

I just bought an XJR and have accidently set the alarm off a few times,so I was wondering if there is a way to shut the alarm off from the key fob and if there are any other button combinations that I'm not aware of.

Thanks,

Thanks,
Three consecutive presses of the headlight button (horn button on a few fobs) sets off the alarm.

A single press of the unlock button has always turned off the alarm on the few occasions that I've accidentally set it off.

I've tried that before but to no avail I have to get in and putthe key in the ignition, which is a pain because when the alarm goes off all the lights strobe like it's a techno dance party in my car.

Owner's manual says specifically if you press the headlight button on remote 3 times the doors all unlock and the alarm goes off. And the way to turn it off is to put key in ignition and turn to on position.

This is a safety driven response. The alarm sounds and all doors unlock allowing you to get in and hopefully deter thief/mugger/etc. Once you are in car (and hopefully safe) you prove you are the owner by putting the key in.

Yes, I know, there are ways a thief could work around this but hopefully he or she would not know procedure. (Could there be female muggers out there? Let's hope so.)

I guess I've never done a triple headlight button press.

Most of my accidental set offs have been when I left the windows too far down but had locked the car (don't ask, it's happened) then reached in and manually pulled a lock up. That's always set the alarm off and an unlock press has silenced it.

Pressing the headlamp button several times is how we found cars the EASY way in the lot at the Jag dealer.

The only time it did not work is if the car still had the transit relay before we did a PDI or if the system was broken.
