Question knock sensor problem. is this common?

i have the restricted performance reading coming up. after i drive about 5-10 miles the restricted performance reading goes away and i can drive with out my car being held back by a bad sensor.

but on top of that problem earlier this year i had a coolant leak that was under the supercharger. i had it fixed. long story short im still leaking coolant but now i cant trace the leak. its not dripping anywhere. my theory, i think I'm leaking toward the front of the block (still under the supercharger), coolants hitting the sensor making it go off but after my motor gets hot it dries the sensor making sensor function properly.

does this make sense to you all or am i just completely crazy and over thinking?

That is the exact scenario my tech described as causing the most failures of knock sensors, a leak gets them wet and they fail.

My mechanic told me the same thing -- they get wet and they fail. I replaced mine, not a big deal and not expensive.

Unless you have a supercharger sitting on top of them, lol!
