Knocking from front of engine
Have a 2000 XK8 with 77,000 miles with a knocking sound from front of engine by the power steering pump. The knocking is gone when cold but has it when hot. It stops as well when steering wheel is turned to full stop left and right. Is it the pump or the pulley? On the other hand, heaven forbid the secondary timing chain. I replaced the secondary tensioners about two months back with no problem. Could one of the chain gears has slip? The engine runs great, smooth with no codes. Will pull off the belt and see if the knock goes away. Any one have an idea?
