CEL/Restricted Performance
Guys,
I have been getting the CEL/rest performance lights for well over three months now. My code reader gives me the code P0326 - knock sensor. I have replaced the spark plugs with the NGK iridium type but this has not cured the prob. I was accelerating from about 60 up to 85 the other day and the car started to hesitate and would not accelerate further without jerks/hesitation. The Rest Performance light is the most annoying thing about the car - I have 89K on my 2001 XJR. I cleaned the MAF sensor about 4 months ago, and most recently the air filter. Can the knock sensor/s cause this problem? Could the timing be out? I recently had the secondary chain tensioners replaced - thoughts??
My mechanic told me if I am going to replace one knock sensor I may as well replace both of them as they need to remove the supercharger.
Any ideas?
Thanking you all in advance.
Steve
