Default Left headlamp flicks

My headlamp low-beam on the left always flicker on my 2004 xjr. I think that it could be just a loose connection, is safe to try to repair it myself. It is an HID system which is HIGH VOLTAGE.

you are dealing with an X351 this is the X308 part of the forum, none of our cars have HID headlamps except for custom installs. try a repost here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...splay.php?f=28

good luck

Yeah, you're on the wrong site, but - The most likely reason is a bad zenon. When they fail, they first start to flicker. I've corrected it 90% of the time with new bulbs. Yours takes the D1S style. These are expensive, but I've found very acceptable replacement bulbs on some of the Ebay stores. I believe the last set (pair) I bought for a customer on Ebay was $40. Factory bulbs are going to be well over $100 each.

Advisable to replace both at the same time as you'll never match color or brightness changing one bulb. If the bulb doesn't do it, then the only other cause is a bad ballast - brace yourself for that one.
