Default Instrument Panel trim rings

I received the six trim rings from the UK today. The three large ones and the one on the clock fit snugly (friction fit), really don't seem to need any glue. They didn't move or make any noise when driving. If I have issues later I'll put a little glue on them. The other two HAVE to be glued because they fit over the plastic trim built into the panel. I think they look great. I'm not much of a photographer but here's a few pictures from my phone.

Before the lower rings were glued on...

Also before the lower rings were glued on...

Later, in the garage... after the lower rings were glued on...

She'd look real nice out on Kent Island at either Annie's or The Red Eye....especially The Red Eye on Father's day...first bikini contest of the year out there.

Nothing like rock-n-roll, power boats and hot chicks in tiny pieces of cloth...

Hey A2B, have you driven her enough to give an evaluation of the difference between the wheel/tire combos? For at least what you were used to with the taller sidewall? My initial thought would be a stiffer ride, but then again, mine has had low profile tires on it since before I got her, so I myself don't know the difference with the Jag.

I drove it less than a mile to get the suspension settled prior to pictures then I had other obligations to contend with. Took that picture 2 days ago and hadn’t had the chance to drive it since. I’ll try later today to answer your question.

Got a chance to drive it about 15 miles around town this afternoon. I was remarkably surprised that I didn’t feel the road hardly at all. It might be because they aren’t the XL rated tires for possibly increased sidewall stiffness?? They are also new tires and maybe in a year that could change but I’m happy as can be with the wheels and level of comfort so far.

Thanks Eric. They practically fell in my lap but it took a lot to salvage them and still had to buy one rim from the U.K. It was all worth it in the end. I replaced every wheel bearing, every rubber front subframe component, vee mounts and all 4 front ball joints just to prepare for the extra weight, load, etc.

I liked the way the green suddenly burst out when the sun struck my paint yesterday. I had parked in the shade, but the wind kicked up and blew some of the overhead branches back just far enough to let that emerald metallic paint suddenly pop on the hood. This color usually looks pretty dark, sometimes more of a dark blue or even black, as you can see on the parts of the car in the shade. But oh that sunshine on a summer day....

See you have the HGG paint scheme, ..as I do. That blue pearl underlay reflects an oily slick look in through the emerald green and creates a deep dark wet purple.

Interesting. I didn't know that was how they created that effect. The shifting colors always catch my eye.
