Default Lost my XJR, got a new one.....need a few items

Gents,

8/1 was a very unfortunate day for me as my 00 XJR was deemed a total loss due to an unfortunate mishap. By god's grace no one was hurt and I am not one to pass blame or judgement. I was lucky enough to pick up a new one, but it does need a few minor items to really come up to the desired Jag level. Posting pictures along with the description wth the hopes some pleasant gent has all or a few of these items. Please do reply to this thread and PM me if you have these items.

1) Rear driver side cabin light fixture, mine is all wobbly.
2) Rear cigar lighter cover, mine is missing
3) Front passenger and driver side visors if your interior is the same color
4) Front driver and passenger side seat belts and the panel as well please if it is the same color as my car. Mine are quite filthy
5) Upper pop console above the rearview mirror if it is the same color as mine, mine is again quite filthy
6) Sunroof panel mine is not clean and has some spots on it, plus the piping trim that goes around it
7) Trim/piping that goes on all four doors, only if it is the same color as mine
8) Interested in the front seats if they are the color, please do upload some pics
9) Jaguar label/pin on the boot/trunk....mine is missing.

Also, if you know of a Jaguar breaker or junkyard in the US please let me know and I will try my luck with them as well. Cheers and many thanks in advance for your help.

You might want to state your interior color code for accurate responses.

Good luck !

Good point Sir. I will try and see if I can pull the detail via the VIN#. Looks ivory/cashmere, but will validate.

There should be a plate under the bonnet or in one of the door shut areas with the trim code printed on it.

A lot of what you describe could be sorted with a good clean, my car had lived on a farm for a lot of her life and the previous owner had been a smoker, but after a good deep clean using gliptone and steam cleaning everything came up as new. The only exception was the headliner which I replaced with new material.

I can't help you with the sunroof stuff, but I do have a rear lamp. You'll probably find it's the clip at the back that's let go, but to get at it you will have to remove the entire rear seat, parcel shelf and the trim panel the light sits in. Don't be surprised if some of the fir tree cones that hold the trim panel in place have been broken at some point.

The sunglasses holder/interior lamp assembly should be easy to find, it was carried over from the X300 or XJ6 model. The connector for the light might be different, but you can easily swap over the X308 stuff if you needed to.

It might be worth considering having the car detailed by one of the many professional shops you have in the USA. Here in the UK detailing is a relatively new thing, but I've seen some amazing results by the American guys.

Many thanks Stu 1986.

I had the dealer pull the trim detail:

* Oatmeal embossed trim
* Oatmeal headlining
* Oatmeal seat belts
* Oatmeal welts

Ive got oatmeal trim, it's a good colour. Ave a look through my renovation thread, it shows where and how I've cleaned various bits of trim and replaced items.

Love your work Sir. You have inspired me to go through the steam cleaning process. Hopeful I can get the front seat belts back to their former glory. Which exact gliptone gentle cleaner did you use? On their site and want to make sure I get the same exact one.

Here is a photograph of the cleaner I used, this bottle is still 3/4 full so a small amount goes a long way as you've seen in my photos. I used this on all leather and vinyl surfaces not just the seats, use a soft brush to work the cleaner into the creases and grain of the leather and the steam cleaner to blast it out. My steamer cost £15 from a discount store and I use it around the house, so you should be able to find one cheap. With the steamer, a little goes a long way so you don't need to saturate the surface, get the soap and dirt off and wipe with a soft cloth or towel to dry.

I may have a good bit of this list. I was planning to go get a fuel line part from it this weekend if possible. I should have most of this stuff but not 100%.
